5.

On a Nomads competition evening, if the Met Office weather forecast at 6pm shows winds (not Gusts) of 35mph or more, from the South, South East or South West, then due to safety reasons, the Committee will cancel the competition at the booking in. The competition will be rescheduled for a later date. If possible, at least a month's notice will be given for reschedule, if not, then the competition may be abandoned.

6.

Only fish with ONE rod (You may have more than one rod baited and ready to cast), and not more than THREE hooks. A simple spinner with not more than one single (not treble) hook (baited, or not) will be considered as one hook, a spinner or plug with more than one treble hook is against the rules.

7.

Entrance fee to Club competitions to be fixed by the adult members at the Annual General Meeting. The entrance fee must be paid before the start of the competition.

8.

Any angler gaining a special position in a roving competition by unfair means will be disqualified.

9.

Junior anglers (under 16's) must be accompanied by a responsible adult. An adult MUST NOT cast for a junior. Assisted casting ONLY. This involves the junior holding the rod (both feet must be on the beach) with their hands next to the adults hands. Adult and junior must cast together. The adult may control the reel. The junior must reel in, with assistance from the adult if needed.

  1. Remember if you are fishing with a junior, and are found to be casting for them, this will be classed as fishing with more than ONE ROD (breaking rule 6) and may result in both the adult and junior being disqualified.

10.

Points will be awarded in each competition for the heaviest catches of sizeable fish. The points are as follows;

1st.....

30 Points

2nd.....

29 Points

3rd..... 28 Points

In the event of a tie in any competition, the anglers involved will share the points. If a tie occurs at the end of the year, the angler with the greatest weight of fish will take precedence, if there is still a tie, then the angler with the greatest amount of fish will take precedence.
Prizes at Club competitions are paid out on the following basis; first, second and third, a fourth place will be paid, if there are 20 or more anglers, then a fifth place if there are 25 or more anglers. Also heaviest flat fish and heaviest round fish, there is also a separate competition for the
heaviest fish of the night, this is known as the super pool.

11.

In all competitions where all prizes are not won, they will be divided as follows;
a) If only one angler bring fish back to the weigh in, then that angler will take ALL of the prize moneys.
b) If only two anglers bring fish back to the weigh in, then third place (and higher) will be divided between them.
c) In the event of no flatfish being weighed in (or other way round), then that prize money will be paid to the person with the heaviest fish.
d) In the unlikely event of there being no fish caught, all of the prizes will be drawn for.

12.

No restriction is placed on the number of prizes a member can win. Weights or points from special competitions will NOT count towards annual Club prizes.

13.

The Committee have the power to postpone any competition, should they think it necessary to do so.

14.

There are two sets of Competitions through the year that are worked out in a different way to all the rest.
a) The first is the BASS & SPECIES
GUIDE LINES FOR THE “BASS AND SPECIES” COMPETITION

REMEMBER.....ALL FISH MUST BE SIZEABLE

FISH WITH ONE ROD AT A TIME

3 HOOKS ONLY

FISH WITHIN USUAL NOMADS LIMITS

ANY BAIT

THIS IS 2 COMPETITIONS IN 1

BASS” COMPETITION.....

BRING BACK TO THE SCALES ALL THE SIZEABLE BASS YOU CATCH IN EACH OF THE 4 COMPETITIONS.

THE ANGLER WITH THE HEAVIEST AMASSED WEIGHT AT THE END OF THE 4 “BASS AND SPECIES” COMPETITIONS WILL WIN THE BASS CUP.

SPECIES COMPETITION”.....

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BASS (SEE ABOVE) ONLY BRING BACK TO THE SCALES 1 OF EACH SIZEABLE SPECIES, IN EACH OF THE 4 COMPETIONS..THERE ARE POINTS FOR EACH SIZEABLE SPECIES ONLY 25 POINTS WILL BE GIVEN FOR BASS, EVEN IF YOU BRING BACK 2 OR MORE. (KEEP ALL SIZEABLE BASS, THEY GO TOWARDS WINNING THE BASS CUP, SEE ABOVE)

PLACES ARE WORKED OUT ON POINTS FIRST, THEN WEIGHT

FOR EXAMPLE;

IF 3 OR MORE ANGLERS BRING BACK A POUTING AND AN EEL, THAT MEANS THEY

ALL HAVE 20 POINTS EACH, SO, TO SEPARATE THEM, THE ANGLER WITH THE HEAVIEST WEIGHT WILL WIN. IF YOU CATCH A SPECIES THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE IN THE BUCKET, KEEP THE BIGGEST, RELEASE THE SMALLEST, BUT REMEMBER TO KEEP ALL SIZEABLE BASS.

YOU CAN BRING THE SAME SPECIES OF FISH BACK IN EACH OF THE 4 “BASS AND SPECIES” COMPETITIONS, SO, IF YOU'VE WEIGHED IN A POUTING IN THE 1st COMPETITION, YO CAN STILL WEIGH IN A POUTING IN THE 2nd, 3rd, AND 4th COMPETITIONS.

THE WINNER OF THE “SPECIES” CUP WILL BE THE ANGLER WITH THE HIGHEST AMASSED POINTS AT THE END OF THE 4 COMPETITIONS, IF THERE IS A TIE ON POINTS, THEN IT WILL BE THE ANGLER WITH THE HEAVIEST AMASSED WEIGHT IN THE 4 COMPETITIONS.

FOR EXAMPLE;

ANGLER A.....120 POINTS.....12lb 14oz 8dr

ANGLER B.....120 POINTS......12lb 14oz 10dr

ANGLER B HAS THE HEAVIEST AMASSED WEIGHT, SO ANGLER B WINS
